Over the recent Christmas holiday, we visited my in-laws, who live in the desert surrounded by mountains. If you’ve ever watched NatGeo’s Doomsday Preppers, it may seem like some people are preparing for highly unlikely scenarios; an EMP that disables all electronic devices, a pandemic outbreak of avian influenza, or the zombie apocalypse.
